HiFyve is hiring a Press Set-Up Operator in St. Paul, MN!
Salary: $25–$35+ per hour (BOE)
Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: St. Paul, MN
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently set up and operate small presses to produce metal parts according to customer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job routings to ensure accurate setup.
- Conduct precision measurements using tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to confirm material specifications.
- Stage all required materials to ensure production begins without delay.
- Perform routine maintenance on presses and related equipment, keeping work areas organized and clean.
- Inspect materials and finished parts for quality, identifying defects and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Learn to conduct root cause analysis on press or die issues and coordinate with toolroom or maintenance teams for repairs.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Accurately capture and record work instructions and data in company systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience or knowledge of punch press operation, small press setup, and die setting.
- Experience with Di-Acro equipment preferred.
- Must have setup experience on a manual machine.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings (intermediate level).
- Skilled in precision measuring and quality inspection.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and meet production deadlines.
- Team-oriented with good collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
Experience:
- 1+ year experience in metal fabrication, press operation, or related manufacturing work preferred
