HiFyve is hiring a Wastewater Manager in the food and beverage industry in Goodhue County, MN!


Salary: $90K - $110K + per year

Shift: Days

Location: Goodhue County, MN


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Manager to oversee daily operations of an industrial wastewater treatment facility using a membrane bioreactor system. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for compliance, team supervision, equipment oversight, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment system
  • Monitor and adjust plant processes to meet all local, state, and federal permit requirements
  • Supervise, schedule, and train wastewater staff to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Perform and oversee testing including BOD, TSS, Ammonia, Phosphorus, and other regulatory samples
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of discharge monitoring reports and compliance documentation
  • Maintain inventory of chemicals, parts, and equipment
  • Work with vendors and contractors as needed
  • Participate in budget planning and cost control
  • Support environmental audits, inspections, and permit renewals
  • Coordinate pest control services.


Education Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 4 to 10 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment
  • Minnesota Class B Wastewater Operator Certification required; Class A preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with membrane bioreactor systems and belt press dewatering preferred
  • Knowledge of activated sludge, anaerobic contact systems, and clarification processes
  • Supervisory experience in a treatment plant environment


  • Basic electrical and mechanical repair skills including pumps, motors, and control systems
  • Familiarity with SCADA, SAP, MS Word, and Excel


Schedule and Travel:

 

  • Full-time position with occasional on-call responsibilities
  • Minimal travel required, typically 1 to 3 times per year
