A leading industrial manufacturer is seeking a Plant Quality Manager to oversee all aspects of product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement at its Springfield, MO facility. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving quality initiatives, managing customer quality concerns, leading audits, and fostering a plant-wide culture of operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and resolution.
  • Analyze complaints to identify trends and prevent recurrence.
  • Present performance reports and quality insights to senior leadership.
  • Develop quality plans, inspection protocols, control plans, and in-process standards.
  • Maintain a documented ISO 9001-compliant quality management system.
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure all regulatory standards are met.
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, and related tools to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Train employees on quality principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner with operations, technical, and sales teams to align on product specs and quality expectations.
  • Evaluate and work with suppliers to ensure raw material quality meets plant standards.
  • Lead and mentor quality team members; oversee training and development.
  • Promote a proactive quality culture across departments and shifts.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field. Advanced certifications (CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.) are preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5–7 years in quality management in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 implementation and audit leadership.
  • Expertise in root cause analysis, SPC, FMEA, and control planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Familiarity with rubber product manufacturing (belts, hoses, tires, etc.) is a plus.
