Our client is seeking a talented and organized Designer Project Manager with at least 3 years of experience to oversee the design and execution of furniture layouts for new builds. This dual-role position combines creative design expertise with project management responsibilities, working closely with customers, architects, and the sales team to craft functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture layouts, including color schemes and finishes. The ideal candidate will drive projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines are met, and serve as the on-site leader during furniture installation, requiring some regional travel and occasional out-of-state trips.
Responsibilities:

Furniture Layout Design: Collaborate with customers and architects to create customized furniture layouts, selecting appropriate pieces, color schemes, finishes, and spatial arrangements that align with the vision and functionality of new build projects.

Project Management: Oversee all phases of furniture design projects, from initial consultation and design development to procurement and installation, ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet client expectations.

Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between customers, architects, and the sales team, facilitating clear communication, gathering requirements, and aligning design solutions with sales goals and architectural plans.

Creative Development: Develop detailed design plans, including 2D layouts and 3D renderings (if applicable), presenting options to clients and incorporating feedback to finalize schemes.

Timeline Management: Create and maintain project schedules, proactively addressing delays, coordinating with vendors for timely furniture delivery, and keeping all stakeholders informed of progress.

On-Site Leadership: Serve as the “boots on the ground” during furniture installation, supervising delivery, assembly, and placement to ensure accuracy and quality, resolving any on-site issues promptly.

Travel: Conduct site visits within the region and occasional out-of-state travel to assess project sites, meet with clients, and oversee installations, ensuring hands-on involvement throughout the process.

Budget Oversight: Monitor project costs related to furniture selection and installation, working with the sales team to stay within client budgets while delivering high-quality outcomes.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design plans, project timelines, and communications, providing regular updates to internal teams and clients.

Problem Solving: Anticipate and address design or logistical challenges, ensuring smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in furniture design, interior design, or project management, with a focus on layout planning and execution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work with diverse stakeholders in a design or construction setting.

Skills: Expertise in furniture layout design, color theory, and spatial planning.
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or CET) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
