Head of Process and Equipment Engineering

We’re looking for a Head of Process and Equipment Engineering to lead major engineering initiatives that scale production, improve factory capability, and drive engineering excellence. This is a foundational leadership role with the freedom to shape how engineering is executed and how new processes are brought to market.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Process and Equipment Engineering team, strategically scaling as production expands.
- Drive engineering excellence by implementing best practices in process development, root cause analysis, and design-for-manufacturing.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define technical strategy and align the engineering roadmap with business goals.
- Balance hands-on leadership with long-term strategic vision, ensuring near-term execution and scalable systems.
- Oversee project prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery timelines.
- Implement scalable product development processes and foster cross-functional collaboration with Product, Software Engineering, Operations, and Finance.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for quality, productivity, and engineering performance.
- Manage engineering budgets, headcount planning, and vendor/partner relationships.
- Bring entirely new manufacturing processes to market, from prototype through production scale.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace and/or manufacturing.
- 5+ years in engineering leadership roles (Manager, Director, VP, etc.).
- Experience managing large capital projects.
- Strong background in highly automated production processes.
- Expertise in process development, root cause analysis, and design-for-manufacturing.
- Experience working cross-functionally in startup or high-intensity production environments.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).
- Extremely high ownership mentality.
Multipliers (Nice to have)
- Experience with investment casting, vacuum melting & casting, heat treatment, or ceramics manufacturing.
- Experience with SLA printing.
- Previous work in high-growth startups or tech companies.
- Experience setting up new manufacturing facilities or production lines from 0 → 1.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $200K – $250K
