HiFyve is hiring a Senior Electrician in the Manufacturing industry in St. Paul, Minnesota!


Salary: $35/hr - $45/hr (based on experience)

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8-hour days

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, test, install, and repair electrical equipment, parts, and systems.
  • Work with electrical components such as variable frequency drives (VFDs), contactors, overload devices, and control networks.
  • Safely operate and maintain multi-phase, high-voltage, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), VFDs, servo motors, and other control devices.
  • Read, interpret, and apply technical procedures, schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, motor control centers, and distribution systems.
  • Assist operators with troubleshooting and training to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain effective communication with departments, management, and employees on maintenance issues.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities using a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Anticipate parts and materials needed for electrical repairs and follow procurement procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as safety and regulatory standards.
  • Record and manage maintenance data using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as SAP.


Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school or technical school certification in a related discipline preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Licensure (Required): Journeyman Electrician license or location-specific electrician license; master electrician preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, practices, and industry-standard safety regulations (OSHA, building codes, etc.).
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting and repairing control networks, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo systems.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and technical schematics.
  • Capable of using hand and power tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to recognize potential issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and make corrective repairs.
  • Self-starter able to complete projects from planning to execution.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to suggest process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with maintenance software (e.g., SAP).
