Classic Car & Porsche Mechanic - Private Collection

Location: Greenwich, CT (relocating to Bethel, CT within 6 months)

If you’d rather wrench on a carb than plug into a laptop… keep reading.

This is not a repair shop. You’re working directly on a private classic car collection—no random customer cars, no front desk, no chaos. Just you, a solid crew, and a lineup of seriously cool machines that actually get the time and attention they deserve.

We’re looking for a real mechanic—someone who knows older cars inside and out and takes pride in bringing them back to life the right way.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working hands-on with a private collection of classic and vintage cars (mostly pre-1990, heavy Euro presence)
  • Full tear-downs and rebuilds — engines, drivetrains, suspension, brakes
  • Dialing in carbureted engines and mechanical fuel systems
  • Tackling old-school electrical (wiring, ignition, gremlins that don’t show up on a scanner)
  • Heavy involvement with Porsche 928s — timing belts, water pumps, V8 rebuilds, transaxles
  • Sourcing rare parts or fabricating what you can’t find
  • Keeping builds clean, documented, and done right

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years working on classics, European cars, or restorations
  • Strong mechanical background—engine work is a must
  • Comfortable without modern diagnostics doing the thinking for you
  • Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, and figure things out when it’s not obvious
  • Fabrication/welding is a big plus
  • Porsche experience helps… 928 experience is a huge advantage

Bottom line: you care about the work. If you’re just trying to get cars in and out, this won’t be a fit.

The Job Details

  • Pay: $80K – $125K (depends on your experience)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30AM–5:00PM (no weekends)
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life/disability, 401K
  • Location: Currently in Greenwich, CT → moving to Bethel, CT within ~6 months
  • Need to be flexible during the transition

Why This Role is Different

  • No customers breathing down your neck
  • No service writers or upsells
  • No flat-rate pressure
  • You get the time to do things properly
  • You’ll actually see projects through from start to finish

If you’re the type who enjoys the process as much as the result—and you’d rather rebuild something than replace it—this is your kind of shop.
