A large and rapidly growing e-commerce and wholesale company is seeking a seasoned Director of Retail Sales to lead and scale its retail business. This is a senior leadership role focused on retail strategy, revenue ownership, performance reporting, and team development.
The Director of Retail Sales will be fully accountable for the company’s retail book of business, driving growth through strategic partnerships, established buyer relationships, and effective leadership of the retail sales team. This role requires a proven retail sales leader with a strong industry network and demonstrated success building and managing high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the entire retail sales strategy, including growth planning, execution, and optimization
- Lead forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking across all retail accounts
- Build, scale, and optimize the company’s retail channel and account portfolio
- Leverage an established network of retail buyers and rep groups to expand distribution
- Source, negotiate, and secure new retail partnerships
- Make initial introductions and lead early-stage retail conversations
- Assign and distribute accounts across the retail sales team for maximum coverage and performance
- Train, mentor, and develop the retail sales team to drive consistent results
- Manage both direct buyer relationships and rep-led accounts
- Collaborate with internal teams to align retail strategy with company goals
Qualifications:
- Proven, established network of retail buyers and rep groups
- Demonstrated experience managing both direct retail accounts and rep-based relationships
- Proven ownership of retail revenue, with a minimum of $5M in annual retail sales
- Strong people-management experience, including hiring, training, and developing sales teams
- Highly analytical with experience in forecasting, reporting, and performance metrics
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability
Location: Howell, NJ ( In-Person once per week
Type: Full time
Compensation: $150,000K + Commission /year
