The Switchgear Estimator will join a high performing estimating team focused on supporting multimillion dollar electrical projects. This is a detail driven desk role that requires strong technical understanding of switchgear and distribution equipment, the ability to read and break down complex RFQs, and close coordination with vendors, internal teams, and customers.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in an electrical supply house, commercial/industrial field work, or electrical estimating. You will be responsible for generating accurate, competitive quotes, tracking large orders, and ensuring correct configurations and delivery schedules across multiple stages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review RFQs from customers and create accurate, competitive switchgear quotes
• Break down complex switchgear packages into all required components
• Identify value engineering opportunities and present cost saving alternatives
• Communicate with vendors, including major national manufacturers, to confirm pricing and configurations
• Track purchase orders and ensure correct delivery schedules are maintained
• Coordinate multi stage shipments, often totaling 10,000–25,000+ pounds of gear
• Support internal teams with clear documentation, itemization, and project details
• Maintain organized records of quotes, orders, changes, and vendor communications

Qualifications:

• Experience in at least one of the following:
• Electrical supply house switchgear quoting, or
• Commercial/industrial electrician or foreman familiar with gear, or
• Electrical estimator with strong plan reading ability
• Strong understanding of switchgear, distribution equipment, panels, breakers, and related components
• Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in numbers and configurations
• Ability to problem solve configuration issues and think through complex packages
• Comfortable managing large, complex orders and multiple active projects at once
• Strong communication skills with both vendors and customers
