We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Accounts Receivable (AR) to lead and oversee the AR function within a fast-paced healthcare organization. This role is responsible for driving optimal revenue cycle performance through effective collections, denial management, payer follow-up, and compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations. The Director of AR will manage a high-performing team, establish best-in-class AR workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve cash flow, reduce aging, and ensure financial sustainability.

The ideal candidate is a strong, hands-on leader with deep expertise in medical billing, insurance follow-up, denial resolution, and payer contracting dynamics, who thrives in a data-driven, high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Accounts Receivable team, driving accountability and performance
• Oversee AR operations including collections, insurance follow-up, and denial management
• Reduce AR aging and improve cash flow through effective workflows and follow-up strategies
• Analyze denial and AR trends; implement corrective actions to prevent revenue leakage
• Manage payer relationships and resolve complex reimbursement issues
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements
• Report AR performance metrics and insights to executive leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field
• 7+ years of healthcare AR or revenue cycle experience
• 3+ years in an AR leadership or director-level role
• Strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance collections, and denial management
• Proven ability to improve AR performance metrics
• Experience working with EHR and revenue cycle management systems
