HiFyve is hiring a PLC & Instrumentation Technician in the food and beverage industry in Zumbrota, Minnesota!
Salary: $35–$45/hr
Shift: Day shift
Location: Zumbrota, Minnesota
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.
- Maintain and repair power and motor control systems, including frequency drives.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues causing downtime or inefficiencies.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Monitor and test PLC devices and their connections to ensure proper functionality.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track asset performance and maintain inventory levels.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment and utilities (compressed air, water systems, refrigeration, etc.).
- Provide technical support and training for other technicians and operators.
- Maintain clear communication with other departments and management regarding equipment status.
- Stay updated on new technologies and continuously seek process improvements.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Trade school or technical training in industrial automation, electricity, PLCs, or related fields preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 4 to 6 years of industrial maintenance, electrical, or PLC experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in PLC control systems, power distribution, sensors, transmitters, and electromechanical systems.
- Basic knowledge of boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, and wastewater systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, ladder logic, and equipment specifications.
- Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, motor wiring, and system repairs.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently on complex projects from planning to installation.
- Proficiency in CMMS and other maintenance tracking systems.
