As a Metrology Specialist on our Quality Assurance team, you’ll use your expertise in calibration and inspection to ensure everything meets the highest standards. What You’ll Do
- Calibrate & Maintain:
Administer and maintain calibration systems for a variety of equipment (torque tools, oscilloscopes, RF antennas, force/thread gauges, etc.), ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 17025 standards.
- Manage Inventory:
Keep calibration inventory systems current; schedule and coordinate on-site calibrations.
- Uphold Quality Protocols:
Enforce calibration, FOE/FOD (Foreign Object Elimination/Debris), and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) policies across the facility.
- Process & Inspect:
Perform inspections at various production stages (incoming, in-process, and final); review documentation and generate inspection records.
- Vendor Coordination:
Request and review calibration service quotes; create purchase requisitions using quality and ERP systems.
- Support Teams:
Assist engineering, operations, and quality assurance activities—including the QA lab.
- Prepare Equipment:
Ready tools for external calibration and assist with logistics.
- Other Tasks:
Carry out additional QA lab and calibration-related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1.5+ years in metrology administration (preferred)
- 3.5 years with IPC-A_610 and/or J-STD-001, Class 3 (preferred)
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 and INSI/NCSL Z540.1 or similar standards (preferred)
- Experience with mechanical inspection tools
- ESD monitor and mat verification experience
- Understanding of electronics and mechanical inspection (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
- Experience with quality (TIPQA, Oracle) and ERP (Deltek Costpoint) systems (preferred)
- Personal Skills:
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 environments (required)
Travel
- Limited local travel (~75 miles) for training or supplier inspection
Top Skills for Success
1. Metrology Administration: 1.5+ years’ experience (preferred)
2. IPC-A_610 / J-STD-001 (Class 3): 3.5 years’ experience (preferred)
