Job Location:

Allen Park, MI (on-site role).

Compensation:

$16.50/hr to $19.50/hr (depending on experience). There may be occasional overtime in this role, and any OT is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

• This role will have 9 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.

Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an innovative Michigan-based automotive, engineering, and defense organization, to hire a Material Control Technician for our facility in Allen Park, MI. In this role, you will transport products in the warehouse/shop using a power industrial truck (PIT). The role will load and unload delivery trucks, participate in the packaging process, record the product received and put products in the proper shelf spot. This role ensures the material is received and delivered to fulfil orders. You may also perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Read work order or follow verbal instructions.
• Identify, inspect, and track incoming and outgoing parts for quality, quantity, and accuracy.
• Perform inventory control audits and report discrepancies.
• Operate an industrial truck.
• Load materials and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Communicate with shop floor and supplies build floor with material build kits.
• Assist in training team members.
• Clean, organize, remove packing dunnage, and keep work area clean.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma OR GED is required at a minimum (higher level education is welcome).
• Minimum of 4 years of material control experience.
• Valid Driver’s License is required (please note, this will be verified via an MVR check).

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

• Good customer service, reliable attendance, and ability to work overtime.
• Detail oriented, effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain or qualify for an industrial truck license.
• Ability to read, count and communicate inventory data both written and verbal, follow directions, learn new skills and technologies and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).

Work Environment / Other Info:

• 1st (day) shift role. Most of our team starts at 6:00am or 7:00am and works until 2:30pm or 3:30pm.
• This role will be a minimum of 40 hours per week, but there will be occasional overtime. Candidates must be flexible to work OT as required. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
• Offer may be contingent on a background check and a drug screening. Drug screen would include testing for cannabis. There would be no exceptions to the drug screening (eg: for individuals with a medical marijuana card).
• Valid Driver’s License is required (please note, this will be verified via an MVR check).
