Automotive Production Supervisor — General Assembly

Lead High-Volume Automotive Production

Join a world-class automotive manufacturing team where your leadership directly impacts safety, quality, and daily production success. As a Production Supervisor in General Assembly, you’ll lead a large union workforce, drive operational performance, and play a critical role in delivering vehicles that meet the highest standards.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support 40–60 union (UAW) team members across assembly operations
  • Ensure vehicles meet quality and safety standards while maintaining production flow
  • Monitor throughput and remove barriers to hit daily production targets
  • Coach and develop employees; manage attendance, performance, and payroll reporting
  • Resolve production, staffing, and quality issues using structured problem-solving
  • Drive scrap reduction, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to keep lines running

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • 2+ years in manufacturing or automotive production leadership
  • Experience leading hourly teams in a fast-paced plant environment
  • Strong decision-making, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Comfortable working in a union/UAW setting
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of assembly processes

Preferred: Lean / Six Sigma exposure, automotive manufacturing background


Schedule & Environment

  • On-site plant role with rotating shifts (approx. every 6 months)
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (arrival ~5:30 AM)
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (arrival ~2:30 PM)
  • Regular overtime expected in high-volume operations
