Our commitment to service, stock, and cost effectiveness has resulted in extraordinary growth, and we are looking for a hardworking, analytical, Category Manager to fuel that growth, and continually raise our bar of service to customers, existing, and new.


Position Description:

The Category Manager is the strategic leader of their business unit. They will lead purchasing and merchandising efforts across all sales channels with the aim of providing the greatest customer experience to the greatest number of customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Top Line Growth:
  • Steadily onboard strategic vendors in existing and new categories
  • Create new growth opportunities across different sales channels, identifying new products and customer bases
  • Optimize product mix for current and new customer satisfaction and GP$
  • Have identified "partner level" vendors with whom to prioritize strategic initiatives
  • Drive Bottom Line Growth:
  • Possess a precise understanding of all cost drivers affecting category (COGS and underlying commodity markets, Freight and Logistics, Tariffs, SGA, etc.)
  • Possess full command of category margins and strategically position products through different sales channels to optimize for GP
  • Act as a business owner who strategically and intentionally deploys capital

Drive Optimal Sales Support:

  • Gain true category expertise, become the go to person within the company for categories and associated vendors in purview
  • Collaborate with different sales channels to creatively tailor solutions to maximize their offering, cost, mix, service support, etc.
  • Ensure after service support needs are met and foster regional rep relationships to drive trust and future business
  • Develop best in class relationships with key "partner" level suppliers to ensure we are their go to dealer for growth
  • Ensure we are educating customers at the highest level throughout the purchasing process, from content to placement, warranty, and service


Requirements:

Experience: 3+ Years in a buying role, foodservice or distribution experience preferred


Skills:

Possesses a strong ability to think about the big picture and dive deep into the details. Strong communication and analytical skills are required
