HiFyve is hiring a Production Supervisor in Detroit, MI.
Shift: 1st Shift
Salary: $90K-$95K
Position Overview:
An opportunity to join a team that manufactures and distributes high-quality chemicals, with exposure to all facets of office and plant operations, including safety, logistics, vendor management, customer service, and general administration. This position is responsible for overseeing smooth, efficient daily production operations while supporting inventory, scheduling, purchasing, safety, and personnel management functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory for rail cars including Chlorine, Ferrous, Ferric, Hydrochloric Acid, and empties.
- Manage daily Chlorine inventory reporting and distribute updates to relevant departments.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule equipment repairs and downtime.
Order & System Management
- Manage receipt and processing of incoming rail cars and production orders.
- Enter pack orders, production orders, and lab results into the internal system.
- Generate shipping papers and documentation, including sales orders, COAs, SDS, labels, safety checklists, and any customer-specific paperwork.
Logistics & Vendor Coordination
- Order raw materials and supplies including mill scale, iron, ferrous, hydrochloric acid, chlorine railcars, repacking materials, drums, totes, and waste services.
- Enter, update, and receive purchase orders for stock and non-stock items.
- Resolve purchase order or invoice discrepancies in coordination with accounting and administration teams.
Administrative & Safety Compliance
- Conduct monthly safety meetings and weekly safety audits.
- Assist in document control, including creation and annual review of procedural documents.
- Enter hazard elimination cards and maintain corporate safety KPIs.
- Provide telephone and administrative coverage as needed.
Personnel & Leadership
- Manage production and lab staff, including performance reviews, job packet preparation, preventative maintenance scheduling, and rail yard inventory control.
- Act as a backup for the plant administrator and plant manager when absent.
- Train operators on process operations, analysis procedures, railcar inspections, and system entry.

Qualifications:
Required:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in plant operations, chemical plant operations, maintenance, and supervision
- Experience in customer service or accounts payable
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Experience managing safety programs and KPIs
- Familiarity with production planning and maintenance management systems
