Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, responsible for shaping the company's financial strategy, scaling financial operations, and ensuring strong fiscal management as the company continues its growth trajectory. This leader will oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and reporting while driving operational excellence across the finance function. The CFO will also lead the evaluation and implementation of financial software and systems that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Serve as a core member of the Leadership team, contributing to company strategy, long-term planning, and organizational scaling.
- Develop and maintain the Finance team’s scorecards and KPIs, translating financial data into actionable insights for leadership.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support company growth, investment decisions, and operational priorities.
- Partner with the CEO on business modeling, strategic initiatives, and M&A opportunities as needed.
Financial Management
- Lead and mentor the Finance & Accounting teams, including AP, AR, Payroll, Collections, and Financial Reporting, ensuring accurate and timely operations.
- Oversee all accounting, auditing, tax, and compliance functions.
- Tax Filings
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial software and processes to enhance accuracy, automation, reporting, and cross-departmental visibility.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
- Build dynamic financial models to support scenario planning, pricing strategy, and resource allocation.
Operational & Business Support
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Marketing, product Development teams to optimize margin performance, project profitability, and cost management.
- Implement tools and systems that enhance financial visibility, operational efficiency, and data driven decision making.
- Support pricing strategy for hardware, software, services, and recurring revenue streams.
- Support company expansion into new regions by establishing financial infrastructure, including payroll setup, tax compliance, and local accounting requirements.
Cash Management & Capital Strategy
- Manage cash flow and working capital
- Evaluate capital needs and support fundraising or financing initiatives when applicable.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience, ideally including CFO or VP Finance roles.
- CPA certification
- Experience in technology, smart building systems, IoT, SaaS, or service/installation businesses strongly preferred.
- Proven success scaling finance operations during high-growth phases.
- Strong understanding of revenue forecasting, inventory, and project-based financials.
- Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledge of EOS model a plus
