About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure & Security Engineer to join a mission-critical EU Institution project. The role focuses on setting up, integrating, and securing infrastructure and IT systems for financial and communication platforms. While remote work is the norm, occasional onsite presence in Brussels may be requested at short notice.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and install new infrastructure software components.
• Build tools and infrastructure to support secure application publication.
• Provide operational advice and recommendations to internal teams.
• Participate in implementing best security practices across all systems.
• Engage in proof-of-concepts for new infrastructure components.
• Document solutions throughout their lifecycle: specifications, detailed design, release notes, installation/configuration guides, and security procedures.
• Attend technical working groups and progress meetings to align with stakeholders.
• Enhance operational controls based on established test strategies.
• Prepare technical notes and presentations on system architectures (SWIFT, Bloomberg, Eurex, etc.), focusing on how proposals meet functional and security requirements.

Required Experience

• Minimum 7 years in infrastructure setup and IT systems integration.
• Proven experience in secure connectivity and financial/regulated environments.
• Strong background in documenting architectures and operational procedures.
• Skilled in structured, compliance-driven IT environments.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

Ideal Candidate

• Experienced in complex infrastructure deployments and high-availability systems.
• Familiar with financial platforms (SWIFT, Bloomberg, Eurex) or similar.
• Comfortable balancing technical execution with clear documentation and security compliance.
• Based in the EU and available for occasional onsite work in Brussels with short notice.
