We are looking for a Solution Architect Non-Life

Location: Brussels or Antwerp, with the possibility of partial remote work.

Languages: Dutch / French plus English.

Desired start date: 01/08/2025

Contract duration: Until 31/12/2025, with possible extension.

  • EXPERIENCE WITH GUIDEWIRE IS A PLUS, KNOWLEDGE OF NON-LIFE INSURANCE IS REQUIRED.


Purpose of the Role

You are responsible for the complete design of applications according to business needs. You analyze complex information problems and can translate them into clear and complete models that align well with the Business Architecture, Application Architecture, and Technical Architecture.

In addition to modeling application and information requirements, you also think at a broader level, where you can combine the various needs of the internal customer into a concrete approach that considers diverse topics (data quality, data migration, MDM, etc.).


Key Responsibilities


1. Integration of Solutions

Realize and manage the integration and implementation architecture of the solutions to be implemented.

Goal: To ensure the coherence of the overall enterprise architecture.

Example activities:

  • Define, detail, and describe high-level dialogue structures for interactive and batch components.
  • Ensure alignment of designs with the project team and business sponsor.
  • Deliver a design validated by the architecture board before execution begins.
  • Ensure the solutions are built according to the described architecture.

2. Projects

Support and guide project managers and project teams during the development of the solution (design and execution) and ensure that the solutions are built according to the described architecture.

Goal: To allow project managers to deliver their projects without obstacles and within the framework of the solution architecture.

Example activities:

  • Adjust designs during execution.
  • Report deviations from the described architecture to project leaders and operational managers.

3. Definition of Solutions

Define solutions based on functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring necessary alignment and explanation to the requester.

Goal: To ensure the solutions meet both business needs and technical requirements.

Example activities:

  • Ensure the solutions comply with security regulations.
  • Ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are fulfilled.

4. Solution Alternatives

Analyze business requirements and develop alternatives that achieve the desired state for information provisioning, applications, technical infrastructure, etc., building and justifying these alternatives with arguments (costs, etc.).

Goal: To guarantee the efficiency of changes and facilitate the acceptance of alternatives.

Example activities:

  • Define selection criteria and scenarios.
  • Estimate costs of the solutions and proposed alternatives.
  • Identify risks.

5. Architecture Principles and Standards

Perform controls and audits (quality assurance on project results, code coverage, code review, etc.).

Goal: To monitor, promote, and enforce the application of architecture principles and standards.

Example activities:

  • Report deviations to the architecture board (leads), project leads, delivery masters, sponsors, and QA manager.
  • Propose improvements to evolve architecture principles/standards.
  • Promote and enforce the application of architecture principles and standards.


Profile

Must Have

  • Master's degree in IT or equivalent through experience in a similar role + 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of at least 2 of the following disciplines:
  • Business Architecture
  • Application Architecture
  • Technical Architecture
  • Information Architecture
  • Strong communication skills (customer-oriented, management, etc.)
  • Coaching skills (project team, etc.)
  • Experience with a model-driven approach (UML, data modeling, process modeling).
  • Interest in Master Data Management, data quality, data.
