Our client is seeking a skilled MEP Electrical Engineer to join a collaborative team of engineers and designers supporting a wide range of building and campus projects. What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the electrical engineering design and execution of projects from concept through construction, including:
- Work with clients on electrical systems such as power service and distribution, branch circuits, interior and exterior lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, telecom/data infrastructure, audio/visual systems, and other electrical and control systems
- Develop construction documents, including drawings and specifications
- Advise clients on electrical system options that meet project needs and comply with applicable codes
- Serve as a lead electrical engineer on projects, directing work for designers, drafters, and apprentice-level engineers
- Perform field inspections to assess existing conditions and define project requirements
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams and external consultants
- Solve complex engineering challenges with minimal oversight
- Support construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Manage electrical discipline project activities, including budget review, schedule updates, and project documentation
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university or equivalent experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- 7+ years of electrical engineering design experience, ideally focused on commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Creative Problem Solving with custom builds and renovations
- Electrical Engineering degree required
- Experience with fire protection services
- Direct client and vendor experience required
- Client facing expereince required
- Experience selecting electrical equipment and troubleshooting systems
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, and electrical construction practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, OneNote, Outlook, and Word
- Experience with Bluebeam and industry tools such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings
