Position Summary:
The plays a key leadership role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of professional nursing care in the Operating Room. The position ensures high standards of clinical care, operational efficiency, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the OR Educator to onboard and continually train department staff.
- Lead department-specific needs assessments to inform training and development goals.
- Create and manage departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility and participate in budget planning (capital and operational).
- Serve as a liaison among OR staff, administration, physicians, and other departments.
- Participate in performance evaluations and management team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Operating Room RN, with at least 2 years in an acute care leadership role.
- Strong clinical background in surgical nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Current Texas RN license or compact state license.
- BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required.
- CNOR certification preferred.
