Vertical Recruitment are working closely with a highly successful global consultancy operating across the USA, Asia, Middle East, and the UK, who have recently launched a new office in Manchester.


Their Manchester team is growing rapidly, with ambitious plans to expand to a 20-strong team. With a strong portfolio of diverse projects, particularly high-profile sports facilities such as stadiums.

Current Projects include: Manchester City and Aston Villa Stadium upgrades, Refurbishment of large entertainment venue and working with NFL on UK stadium upgrades.


The Role: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a hands-on technical and design delivery role across a wide range of projects. Working closely with the Associate and Director levels, you will take ownership of design output, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered on time and to budget.


You will also have client-facing responsibilities, supporting project leads during meetings and helping to nurture client relationships through technical excellence and collaborative working.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality mechanical building services design across a range of sectors, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate the mechanical design process from concept through to detailed design and construction stages.
  • Work closely with clients, architects, and other design teams to develop integrated solutions.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits to monitor progress and provide technical input.
  • Support project resource planning and delivery scheduling.
  • Actively contribute to design reviews, peer reviews, and quality assurance processes.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team.
  • Promote best practice, continuous improvement, and innovation across all projects.


Requirements:

  • Strong technical background in Mechanical Building Services design, construction, and procurement.
  • Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a relevant professional body.
  • Proven experience delivering mechanical building services designs from concept to completion.
  • Good client-facing and communication skills, able to represent the company professionally in meetings and discussions.
  • Solid understanding of BIM processes within project environments.
  • Familiarity with risk management during design and construction phases.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
