Principal Highway Engineer - Contract

Rate: Negotiable and Competitive

IR35: Outside

We are looking for a qualified (or nearing) chartered or incorporated engineers who are passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:

·        Preparation of feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings and calculations

·        Preparation of contract documents and specifications. 

·        Project planning, management and monitoring

·        Liaising with clients and contractors.

·        A working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN1/20 and other current design standards is essential

·        Use of design software including Civils 3D and/or MX is desirable.

Specific objectives include:

·        Providing a consistent high level technical design service;

·        Providing support, training and guidance to other staff;

·        Effective client liaison and communication

·        Reporting to the Highways Director

·        Liaising with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration; and

·        Financial and commercial management

·        Experience of working in a highway design office is essential, typically with at least 10 years’ practical design experience.

·        Have proven experience of working with Local Authorities

·        Capable of operating with minimal supervision
