Drainage Engineer

Vertical Recruitment are working with an award-winning Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy in the Wirral. They are expanding their infrastructure team and looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer. They work on a broad project portfolio across mixed-use developments, historical refurbishments, commercial spaces, residential schemes, and leisure facilities.

As a Drainage Engineer, you’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver below-ground drainage and surface water management solutions across a diverse range of projects. You'll play a key role in producing high-quality, compliant designs that align with planning and adoptable standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design foul and surface water drainage systems using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
• Work with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for modelling and drawing production
• Contribute to SuDS strategies and flood risk assessments
• Prepare drainage layouts and strategy reports for planning
• Liaise with clients, architects, local authorities, and other stakeholders
• Support junior engineers and coordinate with the wider civils and structures team

Requirements:

• Min 3 years experience.
• Able to work in the office
• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Causeway/Micro drainage.
• Experience preparing drainage strategies, FRAs, S104/S106.
• Experience with Civil 3D desired but not essential.
• Working towards ICE Chartership.
