Vertical Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established and growing Chartered Structural and Civil Engineering practice based in Leigh. With over 40 years of combined experience, the team provides expert engineering services across a variety of sectors – from individual domestic properties to large-scale residential developments and commercial projects.


Role Description

We’re currently looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural CAD Technician to join the team. This is an office-based role in Leigh, supporting the structural engineering team by producing accurate and high-quality technical drawings and models using AutoCAD and related software.


You’ll play a key part in the delivery of projects, ensuring that drawings meet both internal standards and client expectations, while working closely with Engineers to bring their designs to life.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and amend 2D and 3D structural drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software
  • Collaborate with Structural Engineers to ensure design intent is clearly represented
  • Maintain drawing registers and ensure up-to-date documentation is filed accurately
  • Assist in developing and updating CAD standards
  • Work on a wide range of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
  • Liaise with internal teams and external consultants as required


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician within a structural or civil engineering environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit or other 3D packages is a bonus)
  • Sound understanding of structural detailing and construction methods
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering or CAD design)
