Senior / Structural Engineer – Manchester office


Vertical Recruitment are working with an award-winning civil and structural engineering consultancy with two offices in Manchester and one in Edinburgh. They are seeking technically excellent and creative structural designers who enjoy a challenge, to join their Manchester City Centre office.


Candidates should be commercially aware, capable of delivering projects to required quality, to program and on budget, committed to the project and determined to solve problems, able to communicate ideas to internal and external teams.


Key Requirements


  • Strong background in Structural Engineering with experience on a wide range of building scales and construction types.
  • Proficient in Tekla and or SCIA Engineer software, but capable of producing hand calculations and sketches.
  • Strong technical design background.
  • Near Chartered status or already Chartered.


Responsibilities


  • Experience of attending sites and project/design meetings.
  • Independently undertake technical design for a diverse and exciting range of projects, including bespoke houses, new build hotels, energy production facilities, cladding refurbishments, office refurbishments, distribution centres, and retail units.
  • Attend site inspections and DTMs.
  • Lead and contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Report to Associates and Directors.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.
