About the opportunity:


They are working closely with four major engineering contracting companies, each with complementary capabilities and skills. The members have excellent nuclear pedigrees, demonstrated expertise and effective track records across the UK nuclear fleet and related nuclear industries.


They provide process, mechanical, civil structural and architectural, electrical, instrumentation, control and safety capabilities to support Sellafield Ltd.

As well as having a large, dedicated team working for Sellafield Ltd, each has immense reach-back capability into parent organisations for knowledge, expertise and innovations gained from within, and external to, the nuclear industry. Examples of other markets include Oil and Gas, Environment, Mining and Aerospace.


You will be joining a large existing team that clearly understands the different requirements for optioneering, solution inspired, design decommissioning, operating plant asset care, infrastructure and new builds.

As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Structural Technician to join the team in Warrington, previous experience with nuclear projects is not necessary.


Key Responsibilities will include:

·        Checking/ Verification of Technical Deliverables (RIBA Stages noted)

·        Providing a co-ordination role between 'Site' and the 'Design Office'

·        Meeting Attendance (technical & non-technical) to report & justify progress and present technical issues

·        Preparing plans, sections & details for statutory approvals

·        Preparation of hazardous area/ classified zones/ people & material flow drawings/ diagrams

·        Authoring technical specifications, schedules, data sheets, reports & method statements

·        Collaborative Multi-discipline design & Client/ stakeholder liaison.

·        Providing technical and professional guidance, support and development to junior team members


Here's What You'll Need:

·        Extensive experience delivering projects to UK Building Regulations & British Standards

·        Proven experience in a role having direct influence over engineering practice and outcomes.

·        Proven track record in the delivery of structural detailed design

·        Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD (2D/3D)/ Revit (advantageous)

·        Experience of the condition assessment and modification of existing facilities
